Blogging For Self-Discovery
Submitted by Fanaile on Tue, 04/06/2010 - 03:18The first time I had ever heard of blogging, I happened across Wil Wheaton's blog... Being the huge Wil Wheaton fan that I am, I sat for hours upon hours reading everything. In fact, when he moved his blog due to some problems he was having with Moveable Type, I continued to follow his new blog, in Exile. Now, I'll be honest here, at first I thought he was crazy. But of course I live in a society that feeds off making stars miserable. To me, keeping this sort of a diary seemed akin to giving them ammo - to opening the front door to the masses.
And who wants that? I don't even open my front door to my neighbors. And yet, here he has been, blogging for years. Sharing pictures, stories, anecdotes... and most of all, doing it for himself - not necessarily for his fans. Read more »

My Picture... Meet "Baby Fanaile"
Submitted by Fanaile on Thu, 04/01/2010 - 21:06I know, I know... such a cute little girl... Right? [Use this area to insert custom "What Happened" joke here]... This little girl is me, roughly 30 years ago. And yet, this little girl is still the closest photo I have that accurately depicts "me".
You see, most people change a lot as they grow and develop. Life's experiences will make them bitter, cynical, nasty people or - on the contrary - make them sweet, perky, and really just a cup of coffee wrapped in skin. Me? I'm somewhere in the middle, I guess. Read more »

Careful when looking into a mirror...

Well, this piece of advice is absolutely true. And going through any sort of self growth or self development (whether with the help of a program or alone) is going to force you to look into that mirror. Read more »

Self Discovery

But growing up you think to yourself "learning is easy - the teacher does all the work..." It wasn't until well into my high school years that I realized that for most of my life I was going to be that teacher. At least when it came to learning the most important of lessons. Read more »
