Interesting Times Call for More Appropriate Practices

I’m loving this quote right now…. and I’m sure its not just men that he’s referring to…. the Dali Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered “Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.” Read more »

I’d turned my attention inward and sat for hours and hours on my own at home, I’d read books and I was acknowledging a calmer, more peaceful inner world experience for my efforts. But I wasn’t really convinced the payoff was there and I still didn’t really know why I was doing it. Read more »

What Will It Take?!

Why do we have it stuck in our heads that unless we are experiencing pain, suffering and critical conditions then there is no need to motivate ourselves toward change or to improve or evolve or ways of being? Read more »
